Will He ...? (Ever Come?????)

Will Little Disney Boy look like his big sister?
Will he reach for his Mommy to shelter & protect him?
Will his toes tickle when we play with him?
Will he hear our voices and know he's safe in this big giant world?
Will he open his eyes to look at his Grandad as his big sister did when she was a day old?
Will he snuggle with his Granny and fall asleep on her shoulder as his big sister did?
Will he be ready to meet his Daddy?
Will his eyes be brown ... blue ... green ... hazel ... gray?
Will his hair be blonde ... brown ... black ... red?

So many questions this Granny has --- only one little baby boy can answer them.
So many waiting to meet his arrival --- only one little baby boy has his own timing.

All of us are ready to meet you, Little Disney Boy.
You're pretty much stuck with us now.
Today would be an excellent day to welcome you to our little corner of the world.
We're waiting ...
and waiting ...
and waiting ...

Here's a little glimpse at your big sister Lucy & your Grandad putting your bassinet together, Little Boy.  You're going to have so much fun with these two people ~~~ so, it's all your timing now (well, yes, of course God's timing:) ...

Hoping my next post will be to announce the arrival of our little grandson.
Yes, Granny's so excited!!!!!

So come on, Little Disney Boy ...
Granny can't wait much longer!!!

Hanging In There

The past several weeks have gone by in such a rush for our family ... and yet it's been at a snail's pace at the same time.  Doesn't make sense?  Not to us either.  So, here's a little peek into what's been going on in our household:

First of all ...

Princess Lucy is in the midst of a growth spurt (nothing unusual since she is just 3 yrs old & will have many more growth spurts ahead of her).  She is quite the "little girl" now ... not a baby anymore ... not really a toddler anymore either.  She recites the alphabet in the blink of an eye now, sounds out words to recognize the beginning letter, recognizes numbers, has already done math problems...
AND Lucy wrote her name for the first time this week :)

PLUS ...
Lucy's just busy --- being Lucy :)

Everyday is a new adventure for all of us ... Princess Lucy keeps us going from sun-up til sun-down and all the moments in between.  Grandad asked me this evening "What was life like before Lucy?"
And I replied "Life wasn't before Lucy."
How in the world did she get to be 3 years old? Time sure has flown by ... and it seems to be speeding up on us too.  Somehow we need to get it to slow down.

And now for an update on Lucy's little brother:

He still gives his Mommy daily contractions ... but he hasn't made his appearance as of this post.  That's not to say that by morning he won't be here, but for now ... at this moment ... he is still keeping all of us on alert.
Little Disney Boy isn't due to make his appearance for another 3 to 4 weeks, but he's been anxious to come for the past few months.

So for now,
we just wait.

And we stay busy
with big sister Lucy,
who teaches her Granny
something new everyday.

By the way ...

A most appreciated Thank You to my new followers from the past few weeks.  I haven't had much of an opportunity to catch up on reading everyone's new posts & following my new readers.
But, I endeavor to spend some time getting to know you through your blogs.
Until then ...
Thank you ALL (new readers & current readers) for spending some time reading Granny's posts.

God Bless ...

Time Flying By ... and Disney Baby Boy Update

I'm having a hard time believing we're less than TWO weeks from Christmas ~~~  where has
 the year 2011 gone?  Didn't we just give thanks to God for His blessings ... wasn't Thanksgiving just yesterday? It seems like the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas pass by faster and faster.  Yes, each day has the same 24 hours but for "some reasons" these past weeks have flown by (at least to Granny).

So, I'm sitting here this morning try to grasp "what have I done over the past couple of weeks ... where has the time gone ... how am I going to get everything done for Christmas in less than 2 weeks?"

The first two questions can be answered together.  (I'm still trying to figure out the second answer.)  You know the old saying "time flies when you're having fun" ... well, this is where my time has been spent over the past couple of weeks:

Family room Christmas tree

This is our family room Christmas tree ...
the one Santa finds on Christmas Eve.
Mr & Mrs GI Joe were married in front of this tree on Christmas Eve 2005.  We've put it in our family room every year since.

Santa's cutest elf

More decorating with Santa's elf ... oh, how cute this little one is!  She has her "Santa's Little Helper" elf ears on & had a blast wrapping up in her silver garland ... and Grandad was in the background holding her giggly attention!

We have some of the best Christmas lights downtown ... so there's at least one trip a year to see how beautiful the city is decorated.
And Lucy LOVES the lights!

I think Lucy wanted to take this giant nutcracker home.  Her Daddy collects them, so we try to get him one every year ...

or I should say LUCY collects them ... (she's taken over Daddy's collection now).

Yes, her little wheels were turning as to how we would fit this nutcracker on top of Grandad's truck.

Doesn't Lucy make the cutest center of this wreath?  This was actually in the walkway between buildings.  She loved the wreath & looking over the enclosure to see all the lit-up deer (which she informed me is NOT reindeer ... only Santa has reindeer to pull his sleigh).

 "It's not Good-bye ... just see you later.  I promise I'll be back to see you soon!"

So, we've had a little bit of Christmas already going on in our household.  And I haven't even gotten to our baking parties yet!  I'll save those pictures for another post.

But now, some Disney-Baby boy news ...

He's so anxious to make his appearance and enter into our "fun & exciting" household, that he gave us all a big scare over the weekend.  Mrs 'Joe had some complications Saturday night that landed her in Labor & Delivery at the hospital.  Not sure the "whys" but this little guy really wants to come into our world sooner than he should.  Please keep Disney boy in your prayers that he will stay-put for a little bit longer (she's 30 weeks along now), and for Mommy to get some much needed rest before he makes his grand entrance.  And for Daddy who is in and out on assignments (it's a challenge to be away from his wife and daughter during this time ... and now with his son on his little way to rock our world).

And last but certainly not least ... for Lucy.  This is an unusual Christmas for this little 3 year old.  Yes, children adapt and go along with the flow ... but they do have feelings & adjustments that are very real.  Afterall, God made them flesh and blood with emotions just like we adults have grown from our youngest days.  She is a wonder of fun & enthusiasm ... and knows the TRUE MEANING of Christmas.  Lucy talked non-stop Sunday about how the angels told the shepherd to follow the star to Bethlehem to find Baby Jesus.
Yes, children pay attention so much more than what we realize.

I hope each of you follow the Wonderment of Christmas as a child ...

"Little Valentine" is a ...

What a year this has been!  You can click here to read the story of my daughter's miscarriage on Easter Sunday.  As difficult as it was (and actually still is at times), a tiny angel awaits our family in Heaven.  Shortly after this, we learned that God was not finished ... yes, another grandbaby on its way!

I've referred to this little one as Little Valentine (read here) .  But now,
(on my 100th blog post)
Granny can make THE gender announcement ...

Our little granddaughter Lucy will be "big sister" to her ...

Princess-theme all around for Princess Lucy!

~~~~~ little BROTHER ~~~~~
We are excited!!!!  Granddad & I have never had a little boy besides our nephew & church kids running around our house ... so this little one will be very interesting!
Everything is looking good in Mrs. 'Joe's pregnancy, but please still remember them in your prayers.  She had early contractions with Lucy (not Braxton Hicks, but the real thing) starting at about 5 months, and has started contractions with this little one last month.  His ETA is mid February, so we all are just trusting God to take care of this little baby boy.
A precious granddaughter and a precious grandson ...
we are blessed.
Little Valentine 2012
Easter Sunday 2011 is a day that we will never forget in our household ... it's the day our grandbaby became God's littlest angel.  You can click here for details on our daughter's (Mrs. G I Joe) miscarriage.  We may never understand "why" this pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, but we do know that God's plan is always perfect.  And our little grandbaby is in the arms of our Heavenly Father.  We have a special guardian angel watching over us.
As God would have it ... Mrs. Joe is expecting again ...  Yes, Granddad & I are excited!!!  Lucy is excited about being a "big sister" ... and the Joe's are excited to be completing their family.
There are prayer requests that come along with this exciting news and I want to share a couple of them with my blogging friends:
Prayer for Mommy & Baby to stay healthy during these next 7 months -- still at a critical period since her miscarriage was not too long ago.
Prayer for Lucy as she transitions from an only child to being a big sister.  Lucy will be 3 years old in a couple of months, and is anxious for this little one to "just be here now" :)
So far Little Valentine has a healthy heartbeat & all looks good, so our prayer is that everything will stay healthy.
God is good all the time ...
even when we don't understand why life happens the way it does ...
God is good.
Thank you, friends, for your prayers.
