What Am I Doing?

What am I doing? Me --- blogging? What will people think of me? What will others say about what I write? What if I say the wrong thing? What is the purpose for me to blog? Will anybody even read it? Do I even want anybody to read it? What in the world am I doing? The answer to each question is simply: I don't know -- what others will think, say, my purpose in the blogging community, and especially what I'm even doing.

I've been thinking about this for several months now, but have been too afraid to even begin. Who am I to think that I have anything to offer that anyone would find worthwhile? Well, I'm still not sure of the purpose, but I am sure that I at least need to write something for my granddaughter. So, most posts will be for Lucy, while I still may write some random thoughts along the way. If someone else comes along and reads this, then I hope I will be a blessing to you, or at least a distraction for a little bit.

So first of all, here's a little about me and my family. I've been married to the guy of my dreams for almost 26 years now. We dated for 8 months, then eloped. Our daughter came as a pleasant surprise to us 3 months shy of our 2nd anniversary. We were surprised because the doctors told us that we had a 1 in a billion chance of ever having children. (God had other plans, though!) Now she is all grown-up, a wife, and Mommy (to the most amazing little girl in the world -- all biases aside), promising young author, photographer, and military spouse advocate. Our son-in-law is dedicated to his wife and daughter, and loves all of the many hats that he wears. And last but certainly not least, our little granddaughter Lucy is the most amazing person in the world to us! None of us remember what life was like before she came along. But the most important aspect about my family is that we all love Jesus Christ. It's our prayer and desire to see Lucy come to know and accept Him into her life.

I'm not sure where this blog will take me, but we'll see ...
